Meet the Principal

Dear KCSILC Students and Families,

With great excitement, I introduce myself to you as the new Principal of Kent County Secondary Intensive Learning Center. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such persevering students, an extremely dedicated staff, and a supportive school community. I feel very fortunate to be part of this school and to support the students and families. My official start date at KCSILC was November 29, 2022.

For more than twenty-five years, I have dedicated my life to the field of education and with Capital School District for 23 years of those years. I have worked with students ranging in age from 4th grade through 12th grade in a variety of roles. I have been a special education and regular education teacher, a 9th Grade Math teacher, a 10th Grade Behavior Interventionist and Dean of Discipline. I have also served students as an In-School Suspension Coordinator in the state of Maryland. Most recently, I have served as one of the Assistant Principals at Dover High School for 3.5 years. I am thrilled to bring my skills as an educational leader to KCSILC and to work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child's success.

I am so proud to be part of the Capital School District family, which values high standards by providing rich learning experiences for all students. I view education as a life-long process and expect that I will continue to learn much from our students as they continue to learn from our outstanding staff at Kent County Secondary Intensive Learning Center. Lastly, I would like to share that I have an open-door policy for students, staff, and families. Please feel free to reach out at any time to the school with any questions or concerns. I genuinely look forward to an ongoing partnership with our families and community members.

Sincerely,

Ronald B. Berry Jr.

Principal

Kent County Secondary Intensive Learning Center
